Worktrends – The 4th Wwworkers Camp in Rome

Evo Pricing CEO Fabrizio Fantini is among the industry experts who attended the 4th Wwworkers Camp in Rome on 8th June, 2017.

In a short timespan, the Wwworkers community has achieved enough traction to attract a lot of interest from across the political and business sectors. So much so that the current edition was being held, for the third consecutive year, in the Queen’s Room at the parliamentary Chamber of Deputies. It was held under the auspices of the Parliamentary Group for Innovation and attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour.

Supported by eBay and Facebook, and with sponsors including Rainews, “Worktrends: the Italian way to the future of work” looked at the current state of the new digital economy, where it is and where it is going.

The event consisted of series of speeches, panels and a barcamp. Attendees included politicians, government officials, work experts, new technology experts, analysts, university lecturers and many people already working on the frontline of the digital economy.

A crucial event

Evo Pricing CEO Fantini shared his thoughts on how crucial this event was to the future of the digital economy:

“The internet and technology are changing the world so quickly that legislators and society are struggling to keep up. To bring together such a diverse group of stakeholders, people with the means to make a significant impact on the future direction of digital, is a great achievement.”

However, he warns there is still a lot to be done.

“We are at the beginning of a long period of disruption in the world of work. It will require a lot of cooperation, goodwill, adaptability, and hard work to ensure that the outcomes of this disruption are beneficial to society.”
